Ravello has no local airport, so every guest connects through one of three gateway cities. Italy is part of the Schengen Area, so standard EU entry rules apply.

Getting Around

Transportation once you're here.

Most of the Amalfi Coast is easily reached by train, ferry, or car — here's how we'd suggest getting between towns, and to and from the airport.

By Train

Naples or Salerno, then a transfer

Italy's two high-speed rail operators, Trenitalia and Italo, both run frequent trains into Napoli Centrale. From there, a private transfer or taxi takes about an hour to reach Ravello. There's also a station in Salerno at an equal distance, though trains run less frequently.

Tickets can be booked at trenitalia.com, italotreno.com, omio.com, or italiarail.com.

Strikes occur occasionally in Italy but are scheduled in advance — check current strike information before you travel.

By Ferry

Naples, Sorrento, or Positano to Amalfi

A scenic and popular option — book ferry tickets to Amalfi at misterferry.com. Once in Amalfi, Ravello is just a 15-minute drive or bus ride uphill. The public bus company is SITA; tickets are available at local tabacchi shops or through the Unico Campania app.

Taxi & Uber

Available at both Rome and Naples airports

Uber can be booked directly through the app, which will guide you to the pickup area. For taxis, head to the designated stand outside arrivals — confirm your destination and total fare with the driver before getting in. Most taxis accept cards, but it's worth carrying cash as a backup.

A flat rate of roughly €150 applies from Naples Airport to Ravello.

Public Bus

Affordable, but plan around peak hours

The SITA bus runs up and down the Amalfi Coast and is an inexpensive way to get around. During peak hours, buses can be delayed or crowded, which makes traveling with larger luggage more difficult — better suited to day trips than airport transfers.

Private Transfers

Our recommendation for the smoothest arrival

We'd suggest contacting your hotel's concierge to arrange a private car — we've found this to be the easiest and most reliable way to book transportation in Italy, especially coming from the airport.

We don't recommend renting a car on the Amalfi Coast — the roads are narrow and winding, and parking is very limited. If you'd still like to drive, please arrange parking with your hotel well in advance.

Our Story

Before Ravello.

A few watercolor moments from along the way, painted from photos we'll treasure forever.

Kate and Jhon met in Denver, Colorado, in February 2022, just days after Valentine's Day, when love was still in the air. It was an instant connection after the first date. The following two and half years in Denver were spent full of travel, meeting each other's families, and welcoming our first dog, Stella.

Last August, on the shore of Menaggio on Lake Como, Jhon got down on one knee, one of the most meaningful moments of our lives. The rest of the trip was spent celebrating our engagement surrounded by family and friends. We wanted our wedding to feel just like that day, so we're bringing everyone we love back to Italy to celebrate with us.

Naples (NAP) is the best choice for most guests, widest flight selection, about an hour to Ravello. Salerno (QSR) is closer but has fewer routes; Rome (FCO) works well if you're connecting from farther away. See "Getting There" above for a full breakdown.
Most guests, including from the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, can enter Italy visa-free for stays under 90 days. Starting later in 2026, an online travel authorization called ETIAS will also be required for visa-exempt travelers — it's a short form, not a visa, and typically only takes a few minutes to complete, though approval can occasionally take longer, so it's worth applying a few days before you fly. You can apply directly and find the latest requirements at the official site: travel-europe.europa.eu/etias.
It should be valid for at least 3 months past your departure date from Italy (6 months recommended), with at least 2 blank pages. Worth checking now, since renewals can take a while.
Villa Eva doesn't offer on-site accommodation, but it's a short walk from several Ravello hotels, including Villa Maria and Hotel Giordano. We're finalizing a room block and will post names and rates soon.
While our wedding will be mostly adults, we know some of you may need to bring your little ones! If that's the case for your family, please reach out to us directly so we can accommodate you and get an accurate headcount.
Euros (€)! Cards are widely accepted, but it's smart to carry some cash for small restaurants and shops. Tipping isn't obligatory, rounding up for good service is appreciated but not required.
Contactless payment is widely accepted throughout the area, but we'd still recommend carrying a major credit card (Visa or Mastercard) as well as some cash in euros, just in case.
Cocktail hour will take place across the villa's fully and partially outdoor spaces. We'll have the villa entirely to ourselves, so feel free to step inside at any point. Dinner will be held under a covered patio, and dancing will move indoors.
Early October in Ravello is typically mild and pleasant, with daytime temperatures around 64–75°F (18–24°C) and cooler evenings closer to 59–64°F (15–18°C). We'd suggest packing a wrap or light cover-up for the evening.
Due to limited capacity at the venue, we're only able to accommodate the guests specifically named on your invitation.
Comfortable walking shoes for cobblestones and hills, sun protection, a light layer for cooler evenings, and anything specific to our dress code (details coming with the full invitation).
